Passenger Recounts Medical Evacuation from Türkiye to the UK

A passenger has shared her experience of a challenging medical evacuation from Türkiye to the United Kingdom, which involved travelling on a stretcher aboard two separate Turkish Airlines flights.
She said she was transported by ambulance directly from the hospital to the aircraft door before boarding the first flight to Istanbul. After landing, she described tense moments during the process of being removed from the aircraft. She was then transferred across the airport in a special vehicle and taken to the second aircraft.
The passenger said even the lavatory door had to be removed to allow the stretcher through the aircraft’s narrow sections. She also claimed that she had to travel on the cabin floor during parts of the journey.
After several difficult hours, she arrived in London, where she was transferred to another ambulance and taken to a local hospital to continue her treatment.
